OCTC and the OCTC Foundation, Inc. was proud to honor the Evaline R. Reed Trust at the Association of Fundraising Professionals KY, Bluegrass Chapter luncheon in honor of Philanthropy Day held Friday, November 8, 2019.  The family elected to invest in an endowed scholarship and also awarded funds to improve the quality of student life on campus through additional outdoor seating and a refresh of the campus center. The Reed Mowers Scholarship is available to students enrolled in a certificate, diploma or degree program related to Business Administration, with a preference given to students majoring in Administrative Office Systems, Statistics, Math, Information Technology, and/or Business. Attending the event representing the family Kathy Mowers, Patrick Mowers, and Kaye Johnson. OCTC representatives included: President, Dr. Scott Williams, Chief Institutional Officer, Mike Rodgers, and Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Andrea Borregard.

Kentucky was well representation at the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) Elevating Partnerships Conference held in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 13-15, 2019. Owensboro Community & Technical College’s (OCTC) President Dr. Scott Williams and Chief Institutional Officer Mike Rodgers joined fundraisers and presidents from all 16 colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS), recently signing the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Code of Ethics pledge. They were joined by KCTCS President Jay K. Box and AFP President/CEO Mike Geiger along with KCTCS Resource Development Vice President Benjamin Mohler in Versailles.  ​

Learn more about this innovative program by attending any of the scheduled free information sessions on Tuesday, October 22, or Tuesday, November 19. The sessions will run from 5:30-7 p.m. in OCTC’s Industry Innovation Center located at 4800 New Hartford Road. TechX offers hands-on construction, fabrication, fitting, welding, and manufacturing training in a real-world, self-paced, industrial environment. About Owensboro Community and Technical College

Owensboro Community & Technical College is a public, two-year, open admissions college accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and is one of the sixteen colleges that make up the Kentucky Community & Technical College System (KCTCS). The college values innovation, is focused on student learning, and is responsive to economic trends.  

Most OCTC students are from the counties of Daviess, Ohio, Hancock and McLean in Kentucky, but many others travel from elsewhere in Kentucky and southern Indiana. 

These Merit pages are used to celebrate the successes of our students and will serve them as an online portfolio of achievements.
