The TRiO Kickstart served as an orienation for TRiO members for the 2024-25 academic year. Each member received a folder containing the TRiO calendar of events, the tutoring schedule for the Teaching and Learning Center, information on how to cite sources in both MLA and APA formats, and quick reference guide on how to be an active TRiO members. Participants then heard a presentation on the importance of communication (to instructors, advisors, and others) and proper ways of doing so at the college level.

Students participated in an engaging Time Management workshop that encouraged them to discuss and problem solve in groups to prioritize, organize, and communicate in real time to improve their effective use of the time they have and plan out their futures for the days, weeks, and months ahead to maximize this critical resource.

Students participated in a dynamic Team Problem Solving workshop that challenged them to leverage their critical problem solving skills in a team environment. Students worked with a cross section of differing perspectives to overcome barriers to communication and coorperation. ELC guided the groups and shared strategies for success to maximize effectiveness.

During the session, students reviewed personal finance techniques to support future success and learned about the importance of developing and following a budget. They learned of programs and scholarships to help ease their financial burdens and prepare for their future goals.
