Owensboro Community and Technical College

Time management is crucial for college success. In this workshop, students were taught how to balance their courseload with other obligations, such as family and/or work. Participants were provided a planner and helped with plotting due dates for course assignments.

Students who attended this workshop were asked to evaluate their current study habits and study strategies. They were then provided with examples of effective studying techniques, such as removing distractions, setting timers, breaking projects into chunks, and creating study plans.

TRiO members learned about the various services offered by TRiO Student Support Services, received instructions on accessing the TRiO Blackboard organization page, and were provided a folder of TRiO events for the fall semester.

Students participated in a learning session led by the ELC Team. After attending this session, students were able to create a profile for searching prospective employment options. This session was facilitated by the Experiential Learning Center Success Coaches.

Students attended annual Owensboro's Multicultural Festival.

Attended OCTC's Student Fest Fall '22 event held on OCTC's Main Campus.Students were able to explore different services provided by OCTC, as well as talk with representatives from community organizations that provide resources to OCTC students.

Gardening helps improve overall mood, lower stress and anxiety, and boost self-esteem. This hands-on workshop not only explains various benefits of growing plants and vegetables but also allows students to be creative in self-expression through decorating the pots they will use to plant seeds.
