Owensboro Community and Technical College

Students attended the 1st Annual Girl's Empowerment Trail Blazer Event hosted by the OCTC Foundation, Inc. Speaker for the event, Ms. Ashley Parlett, discussed the importance of paving your own way.

Recognized students are part of the team of OCTC faculty, staff and students that are building the 2018 Rover that will perform in the NASA Rover Challenge this Spring.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of National TRiO Day, OCTC's TRiO Student Support Services provided a panel discussion on what it means to be a first generation student navigating the world of college. Panelists included students, faculty, staff, and community members who were willing to discuss challenges, obstacles, and lessons learned as first generation students.

Students attended Phase 1 of the Dynamic Leadership Institute (DLI): Personal Development, coordinated by David Powers, Career & Workforce Development Coordinator for Western Kentucky University Owensboro. This is a three phase process.

Students attended a pizza lunch with OCTC President Dr. Scott Williams, hosted by OCTC's Student Government Association. Dr. Williams discussed the many resources available to students, updated them on upcoming events on campus, and discussed the Industry Innovation Center opening on the Main Campus.

Will Mounts, VP at OMICO Plastics , OCTC Board member and GOFame sponsor, shared his advice to live in financial freedom for our students. Mounts shared his mistakes, resources which helped him transform his finances, and encouraged students to live intentionally with each dollar with practical and personal examples.
