Owensboro Community & Technical College's Rover Team participated in the Owensboro Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 17, using the theme of "Wishing You a Peaceful Christmas on Earth...and Mars!".  The team built the float using the actual competition rover, repurposing an old satelittle dish on campus as the base for Mars. Owensboro Community & Technical College's Professor David Martin accompanied four Hager Scholars to West Kentucky and Community College (WKCTC) on Friday, November 16, 2018. The students presented a research poster to four other teams from WKCTC and some representative faculty. The OCTC Early College students pictured are (l to r) Kaylee Meador, Brooklyn Knight, Kaylee Meador, Halley Stewart and Patrick Edge. Martin added, "The OCTC team handled themselves very professionally and fielded questions about their research completely and accurately. They represented OCTC and themselves very well." While the event was not a competition, it instilled professionalism in the students and gave them a group presentation experience. A group of Owensboro Community & Technical College's TRiO SSS students traveled to visit Versailles, Kentucky and toured the Kentucky Castle, formerly known as the CastlePost, and Maker’s Mark Distillery on Saturday, October 27, 2018.  The day provided the students with historical and cultural information. TRiO strives to provide enrichment activities for the students to broaden their horizons and experiences. About Owensboro Community and Technical College

Owensboro Community & Technical College is a public, two-year, open admissions college accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and is one of the sixteen colleges that make up the Kentucky Community & Technical College System (KCTCS). The college values innovation, is focused on student learning, and is responsive to economic trends.  

Most OCTC students are from the counties of Daviess, Ohio, Hancock and McLean in Kentucky, but many others travel from elsewhere in Kentucky and southern Indiana. 

These Merit pages are used to celebrate the successes of our students and will serve them as an online portfolio of achievements.
